 Outlook 2000 : Advanced

Course length: 1 day (6 Hours)

Course Description
Overview: Students will learn advanced features for using Outlook 2000. This course meets the Microsoft Proficiency Guidelines for Outlook 2000 at the Expert level.

Prerequisites: To ensure students' continued success with this course, we recommend that they first complete the following Computer Link Software Training Center courses or have extensive equivalent knowledge:

Windows 98 : Introduction or
Windows NT Workstation 4.0
Internet Explorer 5.X : Introduction
Outlook 2000 : Level 1
Outlook 2000 : Level 2

Delivery Method: Instructor-led, group-paced, classroom-delivery learning model with structured hands-on activities.

Benefits: Students will learn how to use some advanced features in Outlook, including managing and customizing their mail environment, customizing Calendar options, communicating over the Internet by using the Calendar, managing contacts and tasks, and working offline and with Newsreader.

Target student: Students enrolling in this course should possess the skills necessary to work with advanced features of Outlook 2000.

Performance-Based Objectives: Lesson objectives help students become comfortable with the course, and also provide a means to evaluate learning. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

Ø      Manage and customize their mail environment by creating stationery and archiving mail messages.

Ø      Become familiar with some of Outlook’s advanced mail features, including importing a vCard file, creating a Personal Address Book, and sending and receiving a fax.

Ø      Customize Calendar options and share Calendar information with other users.

Ø      Use the Calendar to communicate with others over the Internet.

Ø      Manage contacts and tasks by flagging and exporting contacts and organizing tasks by category.

Ø      Work offline, including creating a quick synchronization group and synchronizing by message size, and familiarize themselves with the steps necessary for setting up Newsreader and sending and receiving information through Newsreader.
